Raised in Slack. Resolved in Teams.
Bridge Slack tickets into Microsoft Teams
Plenty of companies aren't one tool deep. One team standardized on Slack; another - finance, IT, a parent company - runs on Microsoft Teams. When a Slack request needs the Teams side, it usually turns into a forwarded screenshot and a lost thread. Routing Slack tickets into Teams connects the two camps directly, so a request raised in one lands as a real conversation in the other.
Why this pairing
Why teams send Slack to Microsoft Teams
Slack and Teams are the two halves of a lot of merged or multi-vendor companies. Bridging them lets a request cross the org chart - from the Slack team to the Teams team - and come back, without anyone maintaining a human bridge between two chat apps.
- Bridge two organizations that picked different chat tools without forcing anyone to switch.
- A /ticket in Slack becomes a Teams channel conversation the other department can actually act on.
- Each ticket stays its own thread on both ends, so context survives the handoff.
- Replies route back to the original Slack thread - no manual relay between the two tools.
How it works
One thread, both ends
Someone in a connected Slack workspace runs /ticket. InboxBarn listens over Socket Mode, captures the thread, and routes it onward without anyone touching a help-desk portal.
InboxBarn routes that conversation into Microsoft Teams as a channel per conversation in the team your colleagues open every morning. Your team reads it and answers it right there, in the tool they already have open - no portal to log into, no queue to refresh.
The reply always goes back on the channel the customer used.
Setup
Set it up in three steps
- 1
Connect Slack over Socket Mode
Install the InboxBarn Slack app, switch on Socket Mode, and the /ticket command is live for everyone in the workspace - no public webhook to host.
- 2
Connect Microsoft Teams
Sign in with Microsoft, grant the Graph permissions (an admin consents once), and choose the team and channel routed conversations should post into.
- 3
Pick a category and go live
Map the source to a routing category (general, billing, VIP, sales) and point your destination at it. Send a test message - it should appear on the other side in seconds, and your reply should land right back where it started.
320M+
monthly active users on Microsoft Teams. Microsoft Teams is already open on the screens of the people who answer your customers - routing to it just meets them there.

Questions
Frequently asked
Does the Slack user need Teams, or vice versa?
No. The requester stays in Slack and gets answered in Slack. Teams is only where the resolving department works.
What does connecting Teams involve?
InboxBarn uses the Microsoft Graph API. An admin consents once, then you choose the destination team and channel.
Where do replies land?
Back in the original Slack thread. The Teams side answers; the answer returns to where the ticket began.
Can I route categories to specific Teams channels?
Yes. Each ticket is categorized and each Teams channel subscribes to the categories you choose.
